The challenge was to rebrand the Wayfinder hotel, a bohemian retreat in Newport, RI. The design of the hotel is bold and spirited, but the current branding fell short of representing this. I chose to rename “The Wayfinder” as “Wayfound, Hotel & Public House”, to reflect the communal hub that it is in the Newport community. They host roller skating events and pool days and DJ sets. I designed an identity that incorporated a classic Serif font that could stand the test of time. The logomark is playful, representing a modern take on a chicken that matches some of the art in the lobby of the hotel because the Rhode Island Red is the state bird. Applying the new identity to various touchpoints brought everything together.
